Low-Cost Anti-Copying 2D Barcode by Exploiting Channel Noise Characteristics

In this paper, to overcome the drawbacks of prior approaches for defending against Illegally-Copying (IC) attacks, such as low generality, high cost, and overhead, we propose a Low-Cost Anti-Copying (LCAC) 2D barcode by exploiting difference between noise characteristics legal illegal channels. An embedding strategy is proposed, variant strategy, also perform corresponding analysis. To accurately evaluate performance our approach, theoretical model in an channel established using generalized Gaussian distribution. By comparing experimental results based on various printers, scanners, mobile phones, it can be found that sample histogram fitting curve match well, so concluded works well. security proposed LCAC code, addition Direct-Copying (DC) attack, improved version, called Synthesized-Copying (SC) considered paper. Based model, build prediction function optimize parameters approach. Parameters optimization seeks tradeoff production cost IC attacks. The show code with two printers scanners detect DC attacks effectively resist SC up access 14 copies.
